Set in a small range of hills that run north from the central, Seronera River valley, Kati Kati is a simple tented camp that caters for drive in only clients. This is a well placed camp and offers a simple experience right in the heart of the park. It is true that this region can become busy in the main season but this camp really allows for the budget to be kept to the absolute minimum and so is somewhere that we do recommend in the March to June and November to January window.

As mentioned above, this luxury tented camp is located right in the heart of the Seronera and, in fact, comprises approximately 4 camp sites all of the same name and so it can be pot luck as to which you are in on any given day. This being said, hidden on the slopes of the various hills of the region, all of the camps offer good views out the grasslands and herds beyond in season.

This is a fairly standard camp as far as the layout is concerned with each of the tents located uniformly from the other. While this does not really give a great sense of privacy, there is definitely enough space to feel that you are not “amongst friends” and, on the whole, it still allows game to wander freely, which adds to the experience.

When we refer to simple tents, these are still, very much, the luxury tents that have now become standard across the north, with ensuite shower and flushing loo facilities and serene verandas from which to watch the meandering game from. They definitely make for a comfortable stay.

This area is famed in the Seregenti for the amount of game that it gets and, as such, the main activity here is to head out on a drive. Kopjes dot the horizon to the south of camp (a favourite haunt for lion and leopard) and scrub bush to the north which gives a great variety to the driving and allows, for the most part, you to escape from the many vehicles that can roam this region in season.

great value for money, good views, simple but comfortable tents

not hosted, in a busy area for game viewing
