Review

With out doubt the best accommodation in Dar es Salaam, the Oyster Bay Hotel was opened in late 2007 and has ruled the roost ever since, in our view. Owned and managed by the fantastic guys at Beho Beho (in the Selous), they have thought of just about everything in the hotel from the rooms to the public areas which are all smartly finished…the biggest point, however, is that the service is impeccable!

Location

Just a 20-minute drive outside of the capital, on the Msasani Peninsular, the Oyster Bay Hotel offers sea views and a quiet location, away from the bustle of downtown. Beautifully put together, with chic, modern interiors and sculpted gardens, it is a idyllic paradise and perfect for either a quick overnight on the way to somewhere else or even as a peaceful place to hang out for a few hours between flights.

Rooms

Each of the rooms has a balcony and faces the Indian Ocean. They have all been thought out to include all of the modern features that you would expect such as wifi internet and plasma screen TVs. On top of this, their simple, yet African, design quietly reminds you where you are. As city hotels go there is no doubt that The Oyster Bay definitely exceeds expectations and so we unreservedly recommend it to all our clients...if there is one thing that we would point out it is that the price tag is also fairly substantial.

Good location, superb service/food/accommodation/facilities
